Hesketh Bank Now has 4 teams which play in the Southport & District Badminton League. The first team playing in division 2, whilst the 2nd and 3rd play in Division 5 and our new 4th team plays in division 6.
We are pleased to be able to offer a Junior Badminton Club. A program which has run for many years, filling the ranks of the teams with many of our former Juniors.

Thomas Sherliker
Tom Sherliker succeeded Janet Pope in 2022, Tom became Hesketh Bank Match Secretary. He has quickly familiarised himself with the Badminton England Tournament software and established system links for club members to access match results and match fixtures and corresponding League information.
Tom has also been instrumental in coordinating and maintaining our new website as well as keep the club notified on upcoming club nights.
John Edwards
John Edwards is a founder co-member of HBBC in 1979/1980 and current Chairman of the club since 1982.
John, an ex-teacher, has been playing competitive badminton since then and only recently retired through injury.
He is a Badminton England qualified coach and many of our current players will have been coached by John.
Both he and Jean [sadly deceased] were awarded the highly prestigious Southport League 'Vera Maxwell Award' in 2010 for services to badminton
Les Hill & Tracy Elliott
Les Hill has played most of his competitive badminton for many years in the St Helens and District and Wigan Badminton Leagues and was Secretary at club level, playing in both Leagues. He later became
Chairman of the St Helens Badminton League in 2002 and served for over 12 years
Les became General Secretary of HBBC in 2012 and currently shares joint responsibility for club administration and duties with Tracy
Tracy Elliott is a current member of our third team and has represented the second team when required
Having initially volunteered to shadow Les, she now shares General Secretary administration requirements with Les and is extremely proactive to get involved.
She has designed the new HBBC Junior badminton advertising poster, and is actively involved in supporting Mark in setting up the new Junior club

Mark Elliott is a hugely experienced and knowledgeable first team player and co-founder of HBBC in 1979/1980 and has been an ever present member of the first team since then
Mark intends to use his skills and experience to establish the opportunity to provide initial tuition for the younger people. With a goal to integrate the Juniors into the Clubs teams.
